Please note: For intricate or complex designs, additional time may be required to ensure the jewellery is not over-polished and that all details are preserved.
Service Process
- Book an appointment: Schedule a meeting with our team via a call or WhatsApp message and visit us at our boutique in Colombo 07 with your jewellery and its certifications.
- Inspection & intake: Our team will assess the condition of the piece, including checking stone security and overall structure.
- Processing: If the design is not complex, cleaning and polishing will typically be completed within a minimum of 5 working days. However, timelines may vary depending on design complexity and the condition of the items.
- Notification: Our team will contact you via a call or WhatsApp message once your jewellery is ready for collection.
- Collection: Collect your item in-store. Jewellery may be collected by the owner or an authorised third party with prior notice. The customer is required to share a contact number and a copy of the NIC/ passport in advance to arrange collection by a third party. Items can be collected without an invoice by sending a confirmation message via WhatsApp from the registered contact number.
Express Polishing Option
Our standard polishing timeline is a minimum of 5 working days. However, if you require your jewellery sooner:
- Express polishing may be requested, subject to our team’s availability and confirmation.
- An additional charge of Rs. 7,000 will apply.
- Same-day or urgent services are subject to feasibility and must be confirmed in advance.
Important Guidelines
- Accepting Jewellery by DINIDU Only: This complimentary service is available exclusively for jewellery purchased from DINIDU. We do not accept non-DINIDU pieces for cleaning or polishing.
- Eligibility: Complimentary jewellery polishing services are available for DINIDU gold and platinum jewellery only. Silver jewellery may be replated at an additional cost of Rs. 6000.
- Certification Required: Jewellery certification must be presented at the jewellery drop-off. The purchase receipt is not required.
- Unlimited Service: Complimentary polishing and cleaning is available without a usage limit for eligible DINIDU gold and platinum jewellery items.
- In-Store Drop-off: Jewellery must be personally brought to the boutique. Courier services are not accepted.
- Scope of Service: Polishing restores surface lustre only. This service does not include repairs, resizing, soldering, stone replacement or structural alterations. Separate quotations for the above can be obtained upon request.
- Engraving: If existing engravings are affected during polishing, re-engraving can be arranged upon request.

Is there a warranty if my jewellery is damaged during cleaning or polishing?
Yes. All eligible jewellery items entrusted to DINIDU for cleaning are handled with the utmost care and the service is covered by our internal quality and safety assurance.
Is same-day cleaning or polishing available?
Same-day or urgent services may be possible in select cases, subject to feasibility and confirmation. An additional charge will apply.
Can plating be done over an existing plating (for example, yellow gold over white gold)?
Yes, plating over an existing plating is possible following inspection. This service is subject to additional charges.
How often should I polish my gold jewellery?
We recommend visiting DINIDU for a professional clean and polish once a year to keep your jewellery looking its best and to preserve its craftsmanship.
How can I care for my jewellery at home between professional services?
A bespoke DINIDU wedding ring typically takes 3 to 4 Â weeks, depending on the design and gemstone availability. We also offer express options for shorter timelines when possible.
