Eligible
GIA and IGI certifications are available for natural and lab-grown diamonds of 0.25 carats or more, respectively.
Service Fee
GIA, IGI and Sri Lankan gemstone certifications are provided complimentary with the purchase.
Certification Coverage
- GIA certifications (from the Gemological Institute of America) will be provided complimentary for natural diamonds of 0.25 carats and above.
- IGI certifications (from the International Gemological Institute) will be provided complimentary for lab-grown diamonds of 0.25 carats and above.
- A separate certificate from a Sri Lankan-accredited laboratory will be provided complimentary for coloured gemstones.
- DINIDU in-house certification will be provided complimentary for the complete jewellery item.
- A coloured gemstone certificate from the National Gem and Jewellery Authority will be provided upon request only.
- Other international gemstone certifications can be arranged upon request only.

- GIA Certifications apply to natural diamonds 0.25 carat and above only.
- IGI Certifications apply to lab-grown diamonds 0.25 carat and above only.
- International gemstone certification requests will be provided, subject to additional charges.
- Certifications will be provided at the time of purchase and issued together with the finished jewellery.
- Ensure that your jewellery certificate is stored safely, as it is an important document necessary to verify your stone’s authenticity and specifications.
- The original jewellery certification must be presented when requesting other DINIDU services such as jewellery cleaning and polishing, resizing, replating, repairs, upgrades, or to review the craftsmanship warranty.
FAQ
Can I get a gemstone certificate from the National Gem and Jewellery Authority?
Yes, you can. Please note that these certifications are not provided complimentary, but only upon request.
How can I verify that the certificate matches my diamond?
For diamonds (typically 0.25ct and above), the report number is inscribed on the diamond’s girdle (the outer edge of the diamond’s shape), allowing for immediate verification at the boutique itself. For coloured stones, verification is conducted by matching dimensions, weight and other documented characteristics.
Do I need to request GIA or IGI certification separately?
No, certification is arranged and provided along with the finished jewellery item.
